What is is about a job that needs to be done that triggers such lame lists of alternate activity? Many times, when I sit down to get to work on something productive I am suddenly reminded of how desperately the stack of papers on my desk needs attention, how not shiny my cell phone has become, or how I always wanted to learn more about Japanese slang. Even worse is when the productivity requires that I use a computer (I know…hardly ever happens). I can’t figure out how to get Word to automatically center align tabs, so I dive in to the help file, online forums, and endless google sifting until I find my answer…which doesn’t look like I expected, so I try another program, which needs to run a version update that includes new features, which I have to explore now or of course I’ll never remember… and suddenly I’m out of time.

Lame. I know.
